We are currently looking for a Relationship Manager in our External Wealth Managers & Financial Intermediaries Desk.

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for delivering a strategic development plan for the Mauritian market asset management and to provide support to the existing portfolio of clients. Your aim will be to maintain the existing portfolio, to continue to grow same, to maximize the profitability, as well as to increase Asset under management (AUM).

  Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of existing clients at Bank One Private Banking based in Mauritius with the aim to generate Net New Money & Revenues for the department.
  • Maintain and grow own existing client relationships. Identify potential prospects and continue to grow the asset book.
  • Work closely with key client relationships and other departments within the Bank on the origination of direct investment opportunities.
  • Perform investment sales and cross-selling activities for clients comprising of asset management (mutual funds, private equity, capital-protected notes, structured products), investment banking (bonds, convertibles, private equity, IPOs), treasury (FX, structured products) and branch (deposits) products as well as promoting the Bank One Custody platform and securities services.
  • Proactively advise and consult with key Private Banking clients, explaining the types of financial services available, educating them about investment options.
  • Ensure high standards of private wealth management customer service and relationship management.
  • Drive and implement business strategies and initiatives to maximize sales and department capacities.
  • Achieve contracted growth in assets, net income and new customer acquisitions.
  • Monitor performance against sales budgets and take proactive measures to manage performance.
  • Ensure control systems put in place are adhered to in full so as to minimize risk of loss to the bank.
  • Establish and develop strong partnerships with other business lines, including close collaboration with Corporate Banking, International Banking & Premier Banking.
  • Keep abreast with general events having bearing on the private banking business.

  Technical Skills:
  • Portfolio management and/or wealth management and/or financial planning skills.
  • Possess strong commercial judgement, professional maturity and results orientated.
  • Knowledge of the banking industry, banking products and regulatory framework is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of operational and risk management.
  • Excellent financial acumen and strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to convey information effectively and convincingly at all levels.
  • Deep knowledge and clear vision of high net worth market place and products.

  Qualification & Experience:
  • BSc in Banking and Investment or Similar.
  • Master of Business Administration or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in Private Banking services within a financial institution in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities / portfolio manager / investment manager.
