Job Purpose:
As Credit Analyst you will be responsible for assessing the credit proposals by providing critical analytical direction and analysis of inherent risks to safeguard the best interest of the Bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess client financial risk profile, repayment capability, security adequacy and industry position for preparation of credit file.
  • Ensure all recommendations of credit proposals submitted to Credit Committees are in compliance with credit policies and required Bank standards.
  • Analyse and interpret financial statements.
  • Conduct research on country/client sectors as and when required.
  • Prepare sanction letters for approval in a timely manner and ensure that all covenants are properly inserted as per approval.
  • Liaise with Credit Risk team and Credit Administration for smooth credit processing, documentation, disbursement and post disbursement monitoring.
  • Ensure General monitoring and housekeeping (Letter of Offer, disbursement, CS, covenants,…) are done in a timely manner in coordination with Credit Administration team.
  • Ensure all control measures relative to approved facilities are adhered to.
  • Ensure compliance with KYC Policies and operating procedures.
  • Be a team player to ensure the department’s goals are achieved.
  • Monitor and motivate junior staff to ensure that optimum level of productivity and service standards are met.

Technical and Behavioural Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Central Bank’s guidelines and local legislation
  • Sound Knowledge and understanding of banking products and lending processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and Risk Management techniques.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ACCA qualified or a Degree in Banking/Finance/Economics/Accounting or an alternate qualification acceptable to the Bank.
  • Minimum 5 years’ of banking experience or in a financial sector with experience in credit analysis.
