Job Purpose



  Will be leading the merchant acquiring - sales team for new payment solutions and be responsible for portfolio growth via aggressive merchant acquisition, sales and relationship management activities including reviewing and analysing merchants’ sales performance and profitability.

Job Responsibilities
  • Promote and present digital payment solutions and other banking products to merchants as per their business needs
  • Lead, manage and build the merchant acquiring sales team
  • Maintain merchants’ relationships to ensure continuous growth and sales targets are achieved.
  • Leverage prospect and contract new merchants and partners by presenting the appropriate solutions for the business.
  • Work in close collaboration with the SME/Corporate Relationship Managers for referrals and securing appointments
  • Create sales schedules for the Acquiring team, follow up and provide regular updates.
  • Develop and implement a business plan to grow the business.
  • Build and manage the relationships of key accounts.
  • Generate, maintain and increase business opportunities with existing merchants.
  • Train the merchant staff on the product as and when required
  • Prepare reports as required regarding business development including market comparison analysis, business opportunities, recommendations, etc.
  • Daily tracking of the sales team’s performance with immediate actions as required
  • Support the business in any way as required to ensure its effective operation.
  • Design and present PowerPoint or other presentations as needed to close deals.
  • Undertake office administrative duties as required in conjunction with operations and cross-functional teams
  • Ensure that cross-selling off other banking products such as loans, credit cards, deposit accounts, etc. is effected while Bank One Policies are followed.
  • Gather and share market/competitor intelligence and inform Channel Head about any gaps in product offering compared to peers.
  • Liaise with other departments at Bank One to facilitate smooth operations and ensure prompt and accurate delivery of service.
  • Represent the company in various events, socializing events and other activities and facilitate the promotion and branding of the company, its products/ services.
  • Ensure that customer satisfaction levels are high & such that customer referrals are generated given good services.
  • Ensure flaws are avoided and errors are rectified

  • A good network of contacts in the retail sector
  • Highly motivated and passionate about sales
  Qualifications & Experience
  • Min Degree in Banking/ Finance/ Marketing or any related field;
  • At least 5 years of working experience in Merchant Acquiring
  • 2 years’ experience in team management
  • Sales experience in the Banking Sector/Fintech/Telecom companies would be an advantage.
  • Proven track record on sales specifically in the retail sector, especially for merchant network with the local context
  • A valid driving license and vehicle
