Our Retail Banking is looking for a Head of Universal Payments & Acquiring
Job Purpose:
  • Responsible for the M & Phygital (M&P) commerce value chain, overseeing and engaging with the various parties involved (SAAS providers, Regulator, Switch, Processors, Terminal Owners, Associations, ISO etc.) as well as the specific role each plays in assuring transaction success.
  • Oversee that in terms of M&P acquiring, Bank One optimizes on the opportunities that are offered due to NPS in the Mauritian acquiring context (For ex: QR Code, IPS etc…).
  • Supervise income generating points, as well as the specific bank charges (fees, commissions, default charges etc.) at various points in the value chain for various e-business transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and manage all aspects of the MCommerce & Acquiring business including, business planning, content strategy and development, promotional campaigns and other App/Online and Physical marketing, App design, customer service, Platform analytics and other technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Increase customer and merchant subscriptions per budget
  • Increase revenue and profitability of the platform through fees, X-sell etc…Retaining the merchants & customers to avoid competition banks poaching
  • Usage Volume per the budget
  • New sourcing: To deliver on the targets set
  • Sourcing from the right segment to increase data led secondary revenues
  • Current Account and float: Meet the CA and Float targets set
  • Develop and grow the business relationship with M&P commerce Payment Service Providers/ M&P commerce Merchants for customer relationship building & ensuring on-going business referrals
  • New Product and features offer: offer products, which are launched time to time; i.e. Seamless payments, Purpose specific Wallets, Value connected to social and environmental contribution…
  • Liaise with Card Associations for facilitating the M&P commerce Business to ensure Bank One operates diligently with the card association requirements
  • Portfolio management: Activating and retaining the merchants and customers
  • Liaise with Suppliers / Service Providers on M&P commerce operational matters to ensure efficiency and prompt execution in operations
  • Liaise with other Departments at Bank One to facilitate M&P commerce Operations and ensure prompt and accurate delivery of service
  • Optimise channels mix and synergies. Continuously analyse, review, and recommend redesign of functional processes to eliminate variations, remove nonvalue added activities, waste, bottlenecks and delays.
  • Monitor and improve service quality. Provide value added input to key stakeholders in the elaboration of processes, contracts, and communication to internal and external customers.
  • Deliver performance dash boards which can be used for business decision making.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure that the merchant and customers are meeting the guidelines prescribed by the bank.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of activities of the business to enable quick, coherent and actionable functional and technological recommendations, and design
  • Expand Network at M&P commerce Trade shows / forums / events to broaden industry knowledge and enhance knowledge of business best practices
  • Investigate the latest trends in M&P commerce to identify potential new functional solutions to meet customers' needs
  • Acquire Training at Visa Business School, MasterCard Academy and the likes to enhance existing skills and acquiring new ones
  • Visit existing and new Payment Service Providers and Merchants to strengthen existing customer relationship and acquire new clients
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A degree in Engineering or computer science and Post-graduation in Marketing (MBA) will be preferred
  • Qualifications in project management related assignments
  • At least 7-10 years of experience with a demonstrated track record in M&P commerce; project management; business analysis
  • Exposure to sales or concept selling in Banking and Financial services experience
  • Strong understanding of data trends and technologies used
  • High standards of accuracy and precision with excellent organisational skills
  • Proven ability to think strategically and act tactically
  • Effective assertiveness and proven ability to establish credibility across the bank. The role requires pitching the product to senior officials in corporates of government bodies
  • Actively embraces rapid change and ambiguity
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Advanced excel skills and exposure to planning models
