Job Purpose:
You will be responsible to verify that all operations are processed and verified as per set standards according to guidelines, procedures and security measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to internal and external customers on Trade Finance products and services.
  • Monitor and attend queries received from Customers, Lines of Business and Banks to ensure they are being attended within set time.
  • Monitor, reconcile and approve all incoming and outgoing SWIFT messages so that all messages are processed accordingly as per set standards and within set deadlines and take appropriate actions for undelivered/rejected messages.
  • Update documentation pertaining to changes in systems, procedures, products and services so that all transactions are accurately processed.
  • Verify that all documents are duly filed and archived on time.
  • Ensure daily backup is done according to set standards so that data are readily available upon request.
  • Carry out investigations to identify the root cause of errors, take corrective measures for any discrepancy while processing transactions, and avoid re-occurrence.
  • Verify and approve transactions in the Core Banking System as per escalation process, to ensure authenticity and accuracy of transactions to avoid financial and reputational risk.
  • Prepare daily and monthly compilation of data for Bank of Mauritius returns.
  • Balancing of Trade Finance Products and ensure that they tally with Trial Balance.
  • Review reconciliation of Nostro accounts and monitor all outstanding items to reconcile.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Central Bank’s guidelines and other relevant local legislations.
  • Good knowledge of KYC & ALM policies and operating procedures.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written) both in French and in English.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma Holder or any other acceptable qualification to the Bank.
  • Minimum 4 years working experience in the banking sector preferably in the Trade Finance field.
