We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and ambitious individual with high integrity to join its Corporate Banking Department as Credit Analyst

Job Purpose:

The main purpose of this position is to assess credit proposals by providing critical analytical direction and analysis of inherent risks to safeguard the best interest of the Bank. Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare credit file with support of RMs and facilitate approval process. It would involve analyzing credit proposals by looking at client financial risk profile, repayment capability, security adequacy and industry position.
  • Ensure all recommendations of credit proposals to relevant Credit Committees for approval are in compliance with credit policies, desired Bank standards and within agreed deadlines. Analyse and interpret financial statements
  • Conduct research on country/client sectors as and when required.
  • Review sanction letters for approved facilities in a timely manner and ensure that all covenants are properly inserted as per approval.
  • Liaise with Credit Risk team and Credit Administration for smooth credit processing, documentation, disbursement and post disbursement monitoring.
  • Ensure General monitoring and housekeeping (Letter of Offer, disbursement, CS, covenants,…) is done in a timely manner through coordination with Credit Administration team.
  • Review customer auditor's reports as and when required.
  • Ensure compliance with Credit Policy and operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local legislations and Central Bank's guidelines.
  • Operate as a team player ensuring the achievement of the department's goals.
  • Attend to requests for opening of LC/Import Loans/Bank Guarantees and Telegraphic Transfers after obtaining satisfactory arrangement from RMs/Credit Risk within cut-off times.
  • Review customer auditor's reports as and when required.
  • Attend to all enquiries stemming from customer relationships.
  • Establish and maintain on-going client relationships.
  • Assist RM to ensure that customers' accounts are maintained properly in the books.
  • Achieve contracted growth in assets, net income.
  • Critical assessment of risk based pricing of proposals to optimise overall return.
  • Passing leads to Retail/Treasury/IBD when needs identified.
  • Monitor level of utilization of facilities for optimal deployment of capital.
  Job Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Central Bank’s guidelines and other relevant local legislations.
  • Good knowledge of credit appraisal and investment banking.
  • Good knowledge of Trade Finance.
  • Good knowledge of KYC principles.
  • Strong analytical and judgmental skills.
  • Ability to quickly pick up risk of Money Laundering.
  • Strong understanding of various financial market.
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Highly numerate
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  Qualifications & Experience:
  • Min HSC with Degree in Banking/ Finance/ Accounting or any related field
  • 7+ years of banking or financial sector experience in credit analysis.
