Job Summary:

Exciting opportunity for a Head of Structured Solutions who offers in-depth expertise in originating, structuring, arranging, and executing large value transactions across Sub Saharan Africa [SSA].

  Key Responsibilities:  
  • Work with the Head of International Banking to originate, structure, and execute bespoke financing solutions for our clients across SSA.
  • Identify opportunities within the bank’s Target Market and Risk Acceptance Criteria.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner banks and other financiers.
  • Develop Information Memorandum and Investor Briefs to share with partner banks and potential investors.
  • Organise roadshows to market key transactions with partner banks and potential investors.
  • Post deal management and monitoring of key transactions.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities, assist in developing business strategies and marketing activities to maximize the Bank’s revenues.


Key Competencies:
  • Specialised in deal origination and negotiation, financial structuring, legal documentation, risk distribution and syndication.
  • Detailed knowledge of key SSA Banking Markets and Competitors.
  • Ability to identify, analyse, allocate, price and mitigate Key Risks in any transaction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. Experience dealing with key stakeholders.
  • Robust credit and LMA documentation skills.
  • Robust legal and regulatory knowledge in different SSA jurisdictions.
  • Excellent technical and structuring skills.
  • Experience in leading teams and projects, deals execution, develop, and implement financing and transaction structures within International Banking.
  • Knowledge of the concepts underpinning structured trade and commodities finance, experience in SSA jurisdictions is a plus.
  • Adept at building and maintaining strong, harmonious working relationships across various organizational levels, across internal and external partners and counterparties.
  • Flexible and has ability to work in a fast pace multifunctional and multicultural environment.
  • Innovative and results oriented.
 

Required Experience/Qualification:  
  • Degree in Banking/ Finance/ Accounting or any related field.
  • Post Graduate Degree will be a definite advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in the SSA.
  • Proven track record in originating and executing large transactions.
  • Proven large network of banks, financiers, investors, and risk mitigant providers with a focus on SSA.
  • Strong understanding of cross-border financing, with a focus on trade and structured trade finance products.
  • Holistic understanding of key related credit/performance/ counterparty risks, financial analysis, legal, tax and accounting concepts and interdependencies.
  • Transactional background and commercial attitude.
  • Experience in developing and implementing bespoke financing arrangements.
