Job Summary: The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible to perform internal audits in line with the annual plan approved by the Board Audit Committee. The key role of this incumbent is to ensure that internal controls within the Bank is adequate and effective, and is also responsible to provide meaningful recommendations along with process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and preparation prior to internal audit assignment fieldwork.
  • Prepare Scoping Document for review by Assistant Manager/Head of Department.
  • Attend kick off, progress and close off meetings.
  • Prepare minutes of meetings.
  • Prepare ORCA (objectives, risks, controls and audit procedures – audit work program).
  • Prepare audit test work paper based on templates available.
  • Provide ORCA and test work paper to Senior on a timely manner for review.
  • Respond to review comments within set deadline in a complete and accurate manner.
  • Perform fieldwork and meet targets set.
  • Identify findings during planning and fieldwork. Escalate same to Senior as and when detected.
  • Draft findings in template available as and when detected.
  • Conduct root cause analysis – when drafting findings.
  • Coach and guide trainees (if any).
  • Understand fully and apply Internal Audit Methodology for all assignments.
  • Understand regulatory environment applicable to each department of the bank.
  • Act as main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Conduct follow up audits on time based on Team Schedule.
Key Competencies:
  • Degree in Banking/Finance/Accounting/Risk Management
  • ACCA partly qualified (level 2 completed and level 3 on going)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Banking Sector (auditing experience would be a definite advantage)
  • Good grasp of the Finacle Core Banking System.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a stressful environment.
  • Critical thinking and attention to details when scrutinizing documents.
  • Good presentation skills (both French and English medium).
  • Contribute positively to team spirit within the department.
  • Proactive, dynamic and solution provider.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
