In an effort to support and assist local communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Mauritius, Bank One commits to contribute Rs 2 for each digital transaction carried out on its Internet Banking and Mobile Banking platforms and for each contactless card payment effected during the lockdown period.

“As an essential service and a key player in the banking sector, we continue to closely monitor the evolution of the coronavirus in Mauritius. The national lockdown has a significant impact on the quality of life of many individuals and for this reason, we would like to reiterate our firm support to the population. All the proceeds will be credited to the COVID-19 Solidarity Fund bank account* in line with the initiative of the Government of Mauritius to provide assistance to vulnerable people”

– Shehryar Ali, Head of Retail Banking of Bank One.

Bank One currently maintains its operations in five of its branches located respectively in Port Louis, Quatre Bornes, Curepipe, Flacq and Rose Belle from 10:00 to 13:00 on Monday to Friday and the ATM network of the Bank across the island remains operational 24/7 for transactions excluding deposits. “To help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we encourage our customers and the public at large to avoid visiting our branches or use our ATMs unless absolutely necessary and to bank online using Bank One’s Internet Banking and Mobile Banking platforms instead. Moreover, to keep our customers safe, we have increased our contactless payment limits to Rs 3,000 per purchase and Rs 6,000 per day” adds Shehryar Ali.
