Changes to OTP Delivery for Enhanced Security
Bank One is implementing updates to the delivery of One-Time Passwords (OTPs) and activation codes for Internet Banking (IB) and Mobile Banking (MB) to enhance security and simplify the authentication process.
Please see below the key updates being introduced:
Activation Code for New Registrations
New Internet Banking users will now receive their username by email and the activation code by SMS. This update enhances security by ensuring that sensitive authentication details are sent separately, improving the registration process.
Transactional OTPs for Internet Banking
From 17 February 2025, OTPs for Internet Banking transactions will be sent primarily via SMS. In addition, a new ‘Resend OTP via WhatsApp’ feature is being introduced, providing an alternative for cases where the OTP is not received by SMS.
OTP for POP Transactions
For transactions managed through POP, our universal payment solution, OTPs will continue to be sent by SMS.
We encourage our IB and MB users to review and update their contact details to ensure seamless access to banking services.
