Job Summary: The Regulatory Affairs Analyst will compile and prepare materials for submission to regulatory bodies and coordinate internal regulatory processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify relevant regulations impacting the Bank and manage the regulatory change forum.
  • Setting up and update the Regulatory Universe in consultation with the Head of Compliance.
  • Assist in the setting up of Risk Management Plan with the collaboration of the business and Regulatory Affairs Specialist for Regulations and Guidelines.
  • Help in undertaking selected self-assessment of guidelines/compliance policies and conduct conformance reviews as agreed with the Board by the Head of Compliance and support the Head of Compliance in issuing conformance and self-assessment reports to the Board Committee after discussion with management.
  • Support the Regulatory Affairs Specialist in the establishment and maintenance a compliance risk matrix and escalation procedures for identified regulatory risk.
  • Support in the management Regulatory Compliance Project as assigned by the Head of Compliance or Regulatory Affairs Specialist.
  • Assist the MLRO and DMLRO in providing statement to Regulatory Authorities and drafting replies to regulatory and enforcement authorities.
  • Assist the Regulatory Affairs Specialist in providing regulatory advice to the business and the review of new products and processes.
  • Proactively assist in the management of the regulatory affairs function task lists and ensure completion of assigned tasks and reports ahead of deadlines.
  • Carry out research in view of advising business on regulatory requirements while maintaining the required independence.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory trainings as per needs requirement.
  • Responsible for the regulatory change process under the Guidance of the Regulatory Affairs Specialist and ability to interpret legislations/regulations in day-to-day business terms/language for business execution.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand technical and legal language.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical analysis background.
  • Sound knowledge of Central Bank’s guidelines and other relevant local legislation.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in law (LLB).
  • Being sworn-in to the bar in Mauritius will be a distinct advantage.
  • 5 years’ experience in the financial sector
