Job Summary: You will be responsible for:

  • Setting up the direct sales unit in line with the Retail top line strategy.
  • Setting up a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve profitability.
  • Assisting in the selling of retail banking products such as loans, credit cards, insurance, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up targets and an incentive scheme for team leaders and sales agents
  • Create plan for visiting customers; contact new customers through cold calls, referrals, etc. and ensure that their needs and expectations are timely fulfilled in a professional manner.
  • Set up alliances to general bulk sale model.
  • Review the budget on a periodic basis and track performance against set budgets.
  • Act proactively to changes in customer needs and taste due to changing environment.
  • Understand customer requirements / interests; research customer profiles and backgrounds in order to propose a solution that meets customer needs.
  • Ensure that Retail banking products are regularly enhanced to meet customers’ needs.
  • Liaison and build networks with Product, Ops, Middle, Back office and local regulatory bodies and forums.
  • Ensure awareness of compliance requirements and implementation of the bank’s Compliance Policy and ensure that flows noted are rectified in a reasonable manner.
  • Make sure that staff are trained on products, process and procedures and equipped to deliver expected results.
  • Find means to streamline, simplify, and standardise key processes in order to reduce turnaround time.
  • Ensure that expenses incurred are within of Direct Sales Budget and Bank’s policy/procedures and that Bank’s assets and resources are properly managed, maintained and utilised.

Technical and Behavioural Skills:

  • Knowledge of Central Bank’s guidelines and other relevant local legislation.
  • Basic knowledge of Trade Finance.
  • Good knowledge of KYC and AML policies and operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of offshore banking.
  • Basic understanding of various financial market.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good interpersonal and communication (oral/written) both in French and English medium.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Excellent team spirit.
  • Proactive, dynamic and a solution provider.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Banking/Finance/Marketing or any relevant field would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of Banking experience.
