Job Summary: You will be responsible for the development and implementation the Corporate Communications Strategy to promote the brand, support stakeholder engagement and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the highest standards of corporate image for Bank One in the media.
  • Develop and orchestrate the Internal & External Communication Strategy of the Bank to raise brand and product awareness, share information on performance and key activities whilst engaging positively with stakeholders.
  • Devise and implement the annual PR Plan. Tasks include: drafting of press releases, editorial content, speeches, coordinating interviews, profiles, thought leadership pieces, advertorials and Employer Brand communication in the media.
  • Develop and maintain best-in-class Corporate Communication materials to ensure a consistent high profile image. Examples include: Annual Reports & Published Financial Statements, Corporate Profile & Presentations, Company Listings, factsheets, segment brochures and collaterals, corporate videos and internal / external newsletters.
  • Assist the Digital Marketing Specialist with the creation of corporate content for various digital platforms including the website, microsites, mobile applications, eNewsletters, Blogs and Social Media pages.
  • Custodian for Bank One corporate information across all platforms.
  • Scan the media landscape for positive / negative coverage of the Bank and its activities, constantly looking for new opportunities to raise the profile of the Bank whilst mitigating any adverse reporting.
  • Ensure preparedness to manage adverse reputational risks and crisis situations through the development and implementation of a Staff Media Policy, Crisis Management Plan and Capacity Building for spokespersons.
  • Support Employee Engagement initiatives through effective, simple, compelling and timely internal communications reinforcing employee pride, belonging and recognition; assisting HR with strategy and content development, design and implementation.
  • Advise Senior Management / LoBs on awards and awarding bodies. Coordinate the drafting and submission of entries for Banking, Financial Reporting, Marketing, Employer Brand and other selected Award categories from reputable institutions.
  • Generate quarterly reports on Bank One media visibility and SOV with benchmarking against competitors.
  • Share daily Media Intelligence Reports on own, competition and industry coverage.
  • Assist HoD with the preparation of yearly Marketing Plan and Budget Management for Corporate Communications.
Technical Skills:
  • Top-notch writing skills in English and French.
  • Superior communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to cope with pressure and maintain a cool head in the face of adversity.
  • Understanding the macroeconomic landscape and a good knowledge of current affairs.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Team-oriented and able to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, in particular Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
Behavioural Skills & competencies:
  • Quality oriented, have an eye for details and show strong bias for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent networking skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or other related field.
  • At least 2 years' experience in Economic Reporting, Corporate Communications or Public Relations role. Prior exposure to the financial services sector would be a definite advantage.
